Phil Robertson
Managing Director
Phil is responsible for the day to day running of the New Breed UK ruminant nutrition business. Phil has worked in the agricultural sector for over 20 years and boasts a strong track record in ruminant nutrition and leading large sales teams. Phil has a passion for helping both valued customers and our internal team members achieve their objectives whether in business or life, taking great pride in helping others succeed, grow and develop.
Living in North Cumbria with his two children (his greatest achievement), fiancé and dogs, Phil loves spending his valuable spare time out and about in the countryside and is a keen Rugby Union and football enthusiast.
Sarah Strachan
Business Coordinator
Sarah has been an Administrator for over 20 years and an integral part of the New Breed UK team for several years. Sarah is very much the voice of New Breed. Whilst not on farm on a daily basis, Sarah is on the phone to farming customers – New Breed UK’s number 1 priority – every day.
Sarah is a highly organised and detail orientated, supporting the business with a range of skills including: data processing, account administration, quality control, risk assessments and auditing work.
Sarah deems it a genuine pleasure to work with a such a knowledgeable and passionate team, even if they do like to play the odd practical joke every so often!
John Williams
Technical Sales Advisor – Additives –National
With an career spanning 29 years in the field of ruminant nutrition, John Williams has established himself as a seasoned expert in the industry. Throughout his professional journey, John has honed his skills and expertise while working with prominent companies such as Rumenco, ForFarmers, MicronBio Systems and Volac Animal Nutrition.
John’s passion for ruminant nutrition is matched only by his unwavering dedication to modern dairy farming practices. He possesses a keen interest in the holistic approach to dairy farming, recognizing the interconnectedness of various factors in achieving optimal results. Central to his philosophy is the utilization of natural microbial solutions to enhance farm productivity and sustainability.
John firmly believes that embracing natural microbial solutions offers a multifaceted approach to addressing on-farm issues. By harnessing the beneficial contributions of these solutions, John advocates for a sustainable and cost-effective approach that not only benefits the environment but also enhances farm business profitability and promotes animal performance and health.

Hatty
Trainee Ruminant Sales Advisor – National
Hatty is a trainee Ruminant Sales Advisor at New Breed UK, undergoing an internal and external training programme to become a technical sales advisor.
Prior to New Breed UK, Hatty has worked in the agricultural sector, with hands-on experience in beef, sheep and dairy farm systems. The majority of Hatty’s experience centres around rearing calves.
Living on the outskirts of Lancaster, Hatty has a passion for the outdoor and animals she can often be found out working her dogs.
Kathryn McMasters
Placement Student
Kathryn is from Ballymena in Northern Ireland. She grew up on a dairy farm at home which is now milking 270 Holstein-Freisians. At home Kathryn tried to be as involved with as many farm tasks as possible.
Kathryn is currently in her third year of studying Agriculture with Animal Science at Harper Adams.
In her free time Kathryn enjoys playing rugby and since moving to the Lancaster area has begun training with a local team in Kendal. While at home she was heavily involved in her local YFC and is hoping to join a club while on placement at New Breed.
Callum Patterson
Technical Sales Advisor –South West Scotland
Callum initially joined New Breed UK as a placement student, and then returned in 2021 full time after graduating with a Bsc Agriculture with Animal Science degree from Harper Adams University.
Callum was raised in Balymena, Northern Ireland. He has worked on farms since starting High School, both Beef and Dairy giving him valuable hands on experience. With this, Callum prides himself on offering practical knowledge combined with learned theory, and has been putting this into play to aid the progression of today’s fast-moving farming sector.
Callum lives in Newton Stewart with his fiancée Emma and dog Bella.
Ian Wozencroft
Technical Sales Advisor –Cumbria
Ian has been with New Breed UK since the company was founded in 2005, and in the agricultural sector for a total of 39 years.
Ian holds a BSc Hons degree in Agriculture and Agricultural Economics, and is a certified CowSignals trainer. Ian specialises in dairy cow nutrition, with specific expertise in balancing different forage based systems, and experience in precision feeding through extensive knowledge of parlour and robot feed curves. All backed up with a work ethic that puts customers first.
Julian Hall
Technical Sales Advisor –North Cumbria & Scottish Borders
Julian has been part of New Breed UK since 2021, specialising in rumen nutrition and CowSignals, as well as minerals and grass seeds.
Before his 34+ year stint in the agricultural supply trade, Julian studied at Brackenhurst College (now Trent University), obtaining a Certificate in Agricultural Merchanting. Julian went on to work for BOCM SILCOCK as a Cattle Specialist in the South and East Midlands before moving up to Cumbria in 2013 with ForFarmers.
Anna Stamper
Technical Sales Advisor – North West
Anna has worked in the agricultural industry for over 10 years, growing up on a sheep and suckler farm, she has always been heavily involved in agriculture, with a passion for cows , she has grown her knowledge on dairy whilst helping out on a forward thinking dairy farm in her spare time.
Anna takes pride in helping customers move their business forward, using her extensive knowledge she will always do her best and the right thing for them. Anna says she was attracted to NewBreed as she wants to learn from our team of leading nutritionists to expand her knowledge of ruminant nutrition to help her valuable customers get the best from there livestock, with NewBreeds unique independent business model this allows her to get the most competitive prices like for like.
Anna is based in North West Cumbria, living just outside of Wigton with her dog and likes to spend her free time helping on the farm, walking, running and going to the gym. She will also never say no to a social event!
Ian Lawson
Technical Sales Advisor – North East England
Ian grew up on a 400-acre mixed lowland family farm in the Wansbeck valley in Northumberland. Ian worked on the family farm – consisting of 100 Holstein Friesian dairy cows plus followers, 400 Mule and cross Texel ewes and 40 acres of arable land – up until 2011 when he moved to a career in agricultural sales.
Ian went to college at Kirkley Hall where he gained a National Diploma in Agriculture. He is also AMTRA and FACTS qualified.
Since working in agricultural sales, Ian has gained significant knowledge in the field of animal feeds, feed blocks, minerals, milk powders, animal health, grass seed, fertiliser and metal work handling systems.
Ian lives in North Tyneside with his wife Michelle, their 2 daughters, Libby and Ella, and Mabel, the family dog.
Jeremy Huck
Technical Sales Advisor –South Cumbria
Jeremy is one of the original members of the New Breed UK team, who contributed to setting up the business back in 2005 and continues to be a valuable asset to the team.
Lives and farms in his own right with his family in south Cumbria, Jeremy is an upland sheep farmer with a passion for sheep breeding and sheep and beef nutrition.
Jereemy is often seen frequenting Junction 36 Auction representing New Breed UK.
Chris Barclay
Technical Sales Advisor – Cheshire & North Wales
Chris is from a dairy and sheep farming family and has a national diploma in agriculture, focussing on dairy Business management, nutrition and fertility.
He started his career as a genetics consultant before moving into animal feed has been working within the nutrition industry for 7 years covering Cheshire Shropshire and North Wales. Chris enjoys becoming part of the customers team really focusing on the best possible nutritional solutions and finding the most cost effective way to achieve a customer’s goals.
In his spare time Chris will either be found playing cricket or golf and can most likely be found at the pub afterward.
Luke Thompson
Technical Sales Advisor – Wales and South West England
Luke holds a degree in Agriculture from Brighton University and has been in the animal feed sector for 11 years, having worked for two large ruminant businesses before joining New Breed UK.
Preceeding this, Luke worked as a full time Head Herdsperson on a 340-cow grass-based spring calving herd. From this, Luke has a specific interest and experience in fertility, dry cow management, improve grazing platforms and overall efficiency and management. Luke is driven by helping customers improve their businesses through correct practical advice. Luke also enjoys looking for bottlenecks that are limiting performance on farm.
