You only get one chance to get youngstock nutrition right.
Every stage of development counts – from birth to weaning to maturity.
You’ve invested in getting that body on the ground and just one small blip can be enough to impact on the future productive potential of that animal.
We have invested in helping you get this right with our range of nutritional services and solutions for calves and lambs.
Calf Feeds
The nutritional requirements of a cow is never as fast changing and sensitive as when they are a calf. Feeding calves and replacements is a big investment that takes years – until they are productive or ready for selling – to recoup.
This is where the importance of stimulating early rumen development to promote early weaning comes in – to make more of homegrown forages sooner.
Calf rearing is multifaceted, which is where our CalfTec™ standard service comes in.

Lamb Feeds
From birth to 35kg liveweight, a lamb’s sole source of protein is milk. From around 8 weeks, milk becomes unsufficient in meeting the rapid growth of the lamb, and so forage becomes the increasing primary source of protein to fuel growth.
Successful weaning from milk digested in the small intestine to forage digested in the rumen is esstantial in getting the most out of homegrown grass.
Creep feeding can play an important part in achieving targets on your homegrown resources, especially when grass is in short supply. Sometimes, it makes more economic sense to utilise targeted micronurtition products.
We would weigh all this up with you before forming a diet plan.
